Nemo Tents and Sleep Systems

For many years, more than I wish to confess to, I have been wanting to go out with some friends and go hiking, camping and fishing like the good ol’ days, but had just been too tied down with work and spending time with loved ones. This year I felt was a brand new year, and was a perfect time for me to get out there and so something I had always wanted to do.

Like I said before I had been wanting to go camping for a long while, and I found myself scavenging my garage for supplies and camping gear I needed to go. I found so many things I used to use while camping, but couldn’t find my tent I used to use. While searching for it, I realized my tent is very out of date and probably needs an upgrade even if I did come across it.

I took a night to sit in the office and just search around the net for some good deals on tents. I came across a nemo tent sale, and had found great deals on all types of tents, but the one that stood out to me the most was a 3 season tent, something I’ve always wanted to own. I ordered it right away and had it shipped to my home, and in no time at all I was camping out by the lake the following weekend. I am so grateful to have found such a sturdy tent to spend many of nights in while by the camp fire enjoying nature.

Playing A Game or Two

I’ve been know to spend some time on the PC playing games, only the free ones though. Sometimes it is nice to just kick back and relax by yourself and play a game or two, when time permits. At Playitontheweb.com they offer over 8000 free online flash games that I check out and play once in a while and think enough of their selection to share their information here.

One that I just finished playing and enjoyed was their free star trek flash game, I’ve always been a fan of the hit show and the following box office hits of the movies of Star Trek and I like seeing the variety of games that they come out with it as the theme, most are really shameful, but I like their version and urge anyone to give it a try.

The Need for Ink

I know that everybody that owns a computer with a printer at some point needs some type of new printer ink cartridges, even people in the U.K (of course, we all know that they do) according to the web-site of 999inks.co.uk which is where I somehow stumbled and fell across last night.It was interesting to see all their products that they have to offer, most of the brands I have heard of, but there was a few that I did not recognize so I’m under the impression that they are native to the U.K. like under the laser tone category I see that they have Brother, HP, Epson, Lexmark and then they have what they call “Tally Toner”, I couldn’t resist I had to take a look and see what it was all about. I don’t know what I expected to find really, it was just a toner, it looked like any other toner, but I was confused about what they mean when saying VAT and Free Delivery Included, I wonder what VAT is. I’ll have to make a point of finding out about that one.

Then I got the bright idea to see if I could order from them, being as I am not in the U.K., but of course in the good old U.S. of A. I have no idea what the rate of exchange would be for the money issue, but I was thinking that maybe after placing the order and all that it would give you a way to change the monies over, but I didn’t get that far. While plugging in my name, address and all that to set up an account with this company, it wouldn’t let me put in the United States as the country, only the United Kingdom was listed and no way to change it, so I guess that answered my question about ordering out of there. Too bad because I was really interested in seeing how they handled it, but that is O.K., it really was interesting to see their selections of ink cartridges and office supplies, they do sell a lot more than just inkjets. They have all the usual home and office supplies and I looked under the category of home and office supplies when I see that they have something called a pritt stick, my curiosity got the better of me and I had to see what that was, come to find out it is a glue stick!

All in all it was an interesting experience that I’m glad that I took the time to do and find out about, that is one thing about the Internet, you always have an opportunity to learn from it.

Looking For The Perfect Mocha At A Reasonable Cost

It wasn’t all that long ago that the McCafe was the new “product” from McDonald’s and they were advertising it very heavily on local TV. I’ve seen several different commercials recently, and that’s with just the little bit of TV that I’ve watched. According to the local Business Journal, the man who owns most of the McDonald’s franchises in Alabama has spent a WHOLE lot of money remodeling the Alabama restaurants to include a McCafe.

I’m looking forward to visiting a McCafe and trying their coffee. I wonder if it tastes as good as a Starbucks and how much of the flavoring you have to add yourself instead of a trained barista. I’m not optimistic what-so-ever, since every time I drink just a plain old McDonald’s coffee it upsets my stomach for hour after drinking, so I would imagine that it will be the same with their specialty barista drinks.

So far I haven’t found anywhere that makes the hot mocha that I enjoy drinking day or night, summer or winter as well as Starbucks. But seriously someone could go broke frequenting Starbucks. Last time I was at a Starbucks I was really happy to see that they have started their own “Customer Rewards” program so that after a certain amount of purchases you get a free drink. The bad news is that you have to purchase 20 drinks to get a free one. That’s a lot of purchasing going on in order to get a free one. At least with Sheetz you only have to buy 10 in order to get a free one. They are a bit cheaper than Sheetz and are the closest to the Starbucks flavor that I have found anywhere else yet.

Luxury Vacation Rentals, Paris or Greece?

Since it has been so nasty outside with freezing rain, snow, sleet, along with some pretty hefty winds these past couple of days, I do what I only have to do and get myself back inside as quick as possible. The older I get the less I enjoy (yes I used to enjoy) winter and all the ugly weather that it brings along with it, like it or not. Although we have had some pretty mild winters these past couple of years it is still winter and it’s still cold and wet. Not my favorite mixture.

I’ve been going through some boxes that have been in the “Guest Room” for many years now that mainly have papers in them that have needed to be gone through, most of which ends up in the paper/cardboard recycling bin. It’s a slow process and sometimes a painful one that causes me to feel depressed for days. Even though my folks have been gone for over four years now it is still painful and raw. I will never get over it, but am doing the best that I can with the cards that I have been dealt in this life. Living here at their house and running the family farm on my own has been a challenge and will continue to because that is real life.

What I really need right now is when I get my tax refund check is to book one of the luxury paris vacation rentals that I’ve been eyeballing online for years now. I made the mistake of sharing my wants and needs for a luxury vacation some where like Paris or Greece and now she seems to be on a mission to get me away from here and plan the “perfect get-a-way” for me before I lose my mind and health. I don’t want to go alone, but there really aren’t a lot of people that I could spend that amount of time with and enjoy before wanting to strangle them. I’ve been on my own for so long here that I don’t know how I would handle sharing myself 24/7. And trying to find someone that can get away for a week because of their job, or their kids, or their aging parents, or their health or their finances, blah, blah, blah………

Paper Trade Account

This morning I am taking advantage of a nice quiet house, not that it is ever loud, to get online and learn more about the stock market. It seems to me that the huge decline in stocks these past several years or so has brought the price of many stocks down to a price point where there are good opportunities for smart investors. Four years ago if you told me to invest a couple thousand dollars into a handful of stocks, I would not have gotten much for money. The price per share would have been so high that I would not have many shares. Now that the price has dropped to what I call an adjusted level of reasonable price points, the challenge is to find the businesses that offer good value for the investment and that have a good to excellent chance of coming through this recession as a healthier, stronger company.

If you find the right companies for this investment strategy, you will be rewarded in a few years with rebounding share prices. A good friend told me about a web site that is an online stock broker and also a great learning tool. They have a great feature called a “paper trade account” so that you can play the market without risking real cash. Once you are comfortable with the results of your paper trading efforts, you can easily open a real account and manage your real shares. What a wonderful idea that I believe I am going to check out here real soon and would urge others to try out as well, just to get a good idea of how it all works before jumping in.

Role Playing Games

My brother has discovered an awesome role playing game on the Internet called World of Warcraft, which I’ve heard about, but know nothing about. He was telling me about the game and wants me to join in the fun and play along with him. From what I understand, you download the software and sign up for the game online and then you buy a wow game card so that you have unlimited access to the game web site for a month.

The game card is like a subscription. There is a place online where you can buy a world of warcraft game card, and they have special deals where you can get a 60 day subscription. Instead of having to drive to the local game store, park your car, go inside the store to get waited on, pay for the game card, then drive home with it, you can just go online and get your wow game card code right away. They send it to you in an email and you have it in minutes instead of all the time you would waste buying it from a local store. That all makes sense to me, as I really would prefer buying things on the internet. I’m just not sure if I will have enough free time to spend playing this role playing game and that I’d be just throwing my money away. I’ll have to go over to his place and watch him play it and see if it is even something that I would want to do.

Look It Up On The Internet

It just really floats my boat that you can turn on your computer, go straight to Google, which many of us have as our Home Page anyway, and type in something as simple as “house for sale louisville ky” and badda boom, badda bing, you’ve got some of the most up-to-date and accurate information right there in front of your sweet Baby Blues.

I can’t tell you how often I ask someone a question and instead of them supplying me with the answer or telling me that they don’t know, I am told to “Look it up on the Internet” don’t get me wrong the Internet is awesome but sometimes I worry that we depend on it too much and what the consequences of that will be for all of us and at what point.

Most Modern Convenience

It’s amazing to me how far technology has come just in the last few years. It wasn’t that long ago that my social calendar revolved around when my favorite shows came on television. Nights out required leaving after my favorites from early in the evening came on or rushing home to catch the new episode of must see late night tv. Now with today’s technology I can watch whatever I want whenever I want—I just set my dvr. Normally I set my dvr to record the full series of shows I want to watch but every once in a while there is something special and usually I remember to set the dvr. I say usually because every once in a while I will be out and my wife will ask if I recorded something and I will realize I forgot. It was always a disappointment—until now! I went to www.Expertsatellite.com and downloaded the dvr scheduler app for my smart phone and voila! we are in business. I can now set my dvr from anywhere, even for those shows I didn’t know about that come up in conversations at dinner parties! I wonder what conveniences they will come up with next!
