Meet The Brides

Ever since childhood I remember hearing tales and references made in regarding to the mail order Russian Brides, but I don’t know that it was still a common belief and practice in today’s world. My sister has been known to try and play match maker for me, she insists that I need a wife, or at least a live in companion, to help around the place, that is so very overwhelming for one person (that would be me) to deal with on a daily basis. So she continues to look around both on and off line for various ways for me to connect with other people, with a heavy emphasis on the women, and has forwarded the link to Loversplanet.com to look into the meeting of “available” Russian women.

Russian dating is seems is still alive and well and we have the Internet to thank for making the whole process an easier task and a whole new twist on the matter. It seems that there is millions of people in the U.K., Canada, Australia and the U S. that are meeting and marrying Russian women.  Russian woman are known for being good looking and have high family values already in place, and have a track record for success.

Nady-HM-10U Headset Mic

With the Nady HM-10U being marked down to such a decent price, as well as getting the headset without having to pay for shipping and handling, just makes sense to go ahead order it. My nephew has his 13th birthday coming up next month and I think, no I know, that he would be thrilled with this gift idea that I have managed to come up without having to do much asking around and/or digging.

I hope the look on his face when he opens this gift, will be an exciting one. Hopefully it will be a Kodak moment that could possibly be captured by someone with all the cell phones and iPads, that everyone has on their person most of the time.

Affordable Bass Tabs

Good that that the bass tabs aren’t as pricey as I first thought they would be. You see my sister’s youngest son, my nephew Jeff, is going to be celebrating his 16th birthday in the second week of July. We are throwing him a good sized party to celebrate the birthday of all birthdays.

Sixteen, old enough to be behind the wheel. Hopefully close to being out of high school and most guys start shaving and trying to deal with what to do with all the facial that is sprouting all over their face. LOL!

Two more years and you will be legal,  you can vote and join the military if that is your choice. Five more years you can legally drink. And it’s all down hill from there!

Family Favorites

From what I am hearing through the family grapevine my second cousin, Matt, is attempting to build a recording studio in his basement. He needed everything new and found the best Ibanez electric guitars online for the money.  It sounds like he will be up and running in no time at all. And there is talk of him getting as many family members together during the 4th of July, as he can and have them come and record some of the old family favorites (songs) that have been sung during the holiday seasons for generations by so many of our family members.

That would be awesome and I am going to let him know that I am willing to help out in any way possible in order to get this accomplished. I’m just tickled about the whole idea and would love to see it really happen.

Normally I would ask one my sisters for her assistance with the ordering of flowers. These days there is no excuse for me not to be able to tend to this task myself right online. No more calling around blindly asking for price ranges and verbal descriptions for the available arrangements by the numerous florists found in the local phone book. Our great aunt and great uncle are soon to be celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary and I think that sending them a nice arrangement of flowers will do quite nicely. My great aunt’s favorite color is purple and I’ve found the perfect flowers that I’m looking forward to putting a smile on her face for and on their special day. It is too bad that my parents aren’t around to help celebrate this huge anniversary with all of us. I know my mother was very tight with Aunt Pearl back in the day. I consider this $45 to be money worth spending on this particular celebration.

A Decent Bass Equializer Pedal

It’s so good to get a hand written thank you card in the mail these days, it just makes me think that they are cool enough to take the time and effort to write the card, address the card, put a stamp on it and then get it to a mailbox. When these days in just a matter of minutes you can shoot someone a thank you and or a card with all of today’s technology communication options.

The reason I bring this up is that in today’s mail there was a thank you card from my 19 year old nephew for the bass eq that we, the aunts and uncles, all pitched in a bought for him as his High School Graduation gift. He is a good kid and he deserves a decent Bass Equalizer Pedal, and so much more, but that’s another story.

Green Ways To Wrap Gifts

One of the most wasteful things around any of the holidays is using gift wrapping paper and then just throwing it all away afterwards. But lately I’ve been trying to get around that and eliminate some of my holiday waste.

I went online to try and get some more ideas on how I could wrap things in a green way, when I came across some clear wireless internet specials that I wanted to take advantage of, so I signed up for them.

I ordered some green holiday gift wrapping that was made out of recycled paper that’s pretty cute and have sworn that that’s all that I’m going to use of wrapping paper this year. I’m also going to try and come up with other ways to package up most of my gifts. I think that I’m going to put together a few gift baskets for some people so that they can reuse the actual basket for something else afterwards. I may also wrap them in tulle, which is something that you can see through, but that they can use for something else afterward instead of throwing it away.

Eating Dinner Out At A Local Buffet

This Friday night a few friends and I are going to eat out at a local all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant.  You order a main dish that includes meat and potato, and then you go to the buffet counter and get all you want veggies, salad, rolls, fruit, desserts, and more potatoes if you want.  The restaurant is about the best value meal you can buy in the area, and the wait staff is friendly.  The only problems I’ve had there is sometimes they cook the steaks more than I like so I’ve learned to tell the waitress that I want it cooked rarer than I really want it.  That way it usually comes out all right.  One thing is for sure, if you leave hungry it’s your own fault!

They have a coupon book that gives loyal customer rewards, when you eat there you leave a ticket at the cashier’s desk and they fill it out with how much money your meal was.  After you spend $100 they send you a coupon good for a free meal.  That’s one of my favorite local restaurants, good food, good value, and they send you free meal tickets every few months! I like free and hate to cook, so it’s a win, win situation for me.
