A Good Day for Paintballing

Tomorrow’s weather forecast is indicating that it will most likely be the last nice day that we will be able to enjoy before the really hot and humid weathers sinks in and then the temperatures will be the norm for a few months. While I really should spend the day doing things around the place, but I’ve decided to take up my buddies offer of participating in a good old paintball game with them tomorrow afternoon.

In anticipation of the “friendly” game that is scheduled for tomorrow, I have gone online and looked at a site that I had bookmarked, some time back, and found myself wishing that I could have a nice new paintball gun for the occasion. They ship things very quickly, but not that quick.

They have such a nice looking and sounding

that I would love to be able to bring along. Having good paintball markers is such a plus when participating in this very strenuous sport, that will most likely cause me to be in pain for the following days after the game. I’ll have to see how it goes tomorrow, if I survive the whole game and feel good about playing again, as it has been a few years since playing last, I may just have to order a new gun from them,

Chili Dogs

It’s so hot and humid out there and I have been working up an appetite. I thought I had something in the kitchen to fix for lunch, but nothing looked good. I ended up driving out to Sonic and getting two chili dogs with tater tots. Their coffee is pretty good, too.

The thing about Sonic is that you get a foot long hot dog and a nice thick chili sauce on top. But if you want anything else, you have to be sure and ask for it when you place the order. I like cheese and chopped onions on mine, so that’s what I ask for. Every once in a while it’s nice to add some chopped jalapenos on there, too!

Raincoats, a Necessity

A good quality warm raincoat is what I’m currently looking for now that I have spent the last few months out in the wet and cold every morning, afternoon and night doing what needs to be done around the farm and all of the out buildings. The Internet is making this necessary search so much easier, I really like not having to drive town to town, for hours on end, looking for the best possible deal and fit, just sitting by the fire, keeping warm and dry, with my laptop, looking online is definitely the way to go for me.

Burned Right to The Ground

My buddy Gary, who lives in North Carolina, and has been a vendor at their local flea market, called me last night with very disturbing news. The flea market burned to the ground yesterday and every dealer lost everything. He isn’t sure what the insurance situation is, he is assuming that the owner has insurance on the building, but isn’t clear on if the vendors are covered.

This was a huge indoor and outdoor flea market that had hundreds of dealers renting space, with tons of merchandise that is now totally destroyed. Sad news for everyone involved indeed. The only good news is that no one was hurt.

Insects

I hate black flies, wasps, yellow jackets, horse flies, ticks, fleas, hornets, and mosquitoes. I spend a fortune on insect killing sprays to get rid of as many of them as I can. I don’t like how the mosquitoes come out during the twilight hours and cut short the outdoor fun. I enjoy sitting outside in the cool of the evening. But the mosquitoes usually drive me inside fairly quickly.

They used to be simply annoying, but now that I’ve learned that they spread the West Nile Virus, I don’t want to risk getting sick from them. I’d really love to buy one of those mosquito trap machines that attract the mosquitoes and keeps them from getting to you. That would make life in our yard much more enjoyable, and extend the amount of time I spend outside.

Safety, Common Sense is Involved

I have several friends that ride their Harleys and they all come from different kinds of backgrounds and a few have careers that you wouldn’t imagine them to have, while sporting the tattoos and all that black leather that is essential for any rider. Several times a year, I will hear the sound of Harleys coming down our road and then continue on coming up all the way into the driveway. I end up having quite a good old time with some very interesting folks who have come by for a entertaining visit.

We have heard so many stories of fallen brothers that have been killed or severally injured while riding their bikes, and all of my “Biker” friends seem very adamant about safety issues that are mostly just common sense if you ask me. There are many places no that anyone can go to and purchase all types of motorcycle safety clothing and helmets at great discount offerings along with all types of accessories that play an important part of motorcycle riding.

Recycled Bottleneck Guitar Slides

This bottleneck guitar slide is really made from an actual wine bottle. Whenever I discover a product and/or service that is offering something that is recycled or any of the other various ways to help keep our earth as safe as possible, I get a bit excited and try to spend my hard earned money that I earn on this piece of dirt that God has allowed me to utilize to survive.

Looks like I’ll be buying one of these babies here real soon. The farm is going to get real busy here real soon. Spring is my favorite of the four seasons, but it is a lot of work to get everything around here done and ready for the hot summer months.

Favorite News Program

In my opinion there is no news program better than the Today Show on NBC. The reason that the Today Show is my favorite news program is because it is one of the first news programs that I can remember ever watching. Jane Pauly and Bryant Gumbel have now given way to Matt Lauer and his cohorts. Another figure that I can remember very well from those old days was Gene Shalit and his movie reviews. As a matter of fact, Gene still makes an appearence on the current show every now and then.

Then there is none other than Willard Scott and his recognizing of people who have reached their 100th birthday. Still, the Today Show in my opinion delivers the morning news like none other and is the best among the major networks. There is nothing better than turning on my TV and watching the Today Show each and every morning. I found some really great satellite TV deals, so it’s nice to really use them! It has been a tradition that has gone on in my households for many years and will be for many years to come, regardless who the host of the show is.

Green 911

The farm has always had issues, at one time or another, with a variety of pests, so I’ve always got my eyes open for different organic pest control info that would benefit us all the way around. This year the corn earworms are supposed to be hitting us bad, which is very disturbing news indeed, considering that corn earworms do major damage to other plants as well. The tomato plant and cotton also is a favorite of these nasty little moths and I don’t look forward to having to deal with this time around.

Organic bug control is the only way to go, in my mind. Too many chemicals have been used in the past around here at the farm, but those days are over and I intend to change a lot of things that I have in power to do so. I’m all about going as “Green” as I possibly can, when ever I can.

I’d like to share with you the following video that can be found online on YouTube. It is a five minute segment that speaks of Safer® brand and its wide range of OMRI Listed® Organic pest control products in a recent show, that I have found most informative and interesting and very relevant to this organic pest control.
