Willie Nelson, He’s the Man

The TV was on the Country Cable channel and I happened to catch the new Willie Nelson music video. It was a hoot! It shows a lot of movie stars hanging out at Willie’s ranch in Texas and they have their annual lawnmower race. Willie has so much property out their, that he constructed a whole western town like a movie set, with a main street, a saloon, and other buildings. He gave the “town” the name of “Luck, TX”The song is “You Don’t Think I’m Funny Any More.” I don’t know what that has to do with lawnmower races, but the video is really funny and I wish I could have been there.

Willie has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember, I was never a country music fan but for some reason Willie I could listen to for hours on end.

Myspace Issues & Concerns

I have just recently discovered after a phone conversation with my sister that my niece of 12 had a Myspace page that I was unaware of, and she told me that there was a few girls that jumped another girl after meeting them on Myspace. What is this Myspace all about anyway? My niece tells me that Myspace is a fun way to meet new people and keep in touch with close friends, instead of using the phone or just simple e-mails. If it is so cool and so fun then why are there kids telling other kids to meet them somewhere and then beat them up. Bullies are ugly people and it seems like Myspace has a lot of bullies, why isn’t anyone doing anything about it?

Cutting Back and Reducing Debts

Obama has two more days until the large plate of problems is handed over to him, and a large plate full it is. But he is hitting the ground running full speed ahead and shows no signs of slowing down for some time and we can only hope and pray that relief is on it’s way. Every day the news get worse, the phone calls are more depressing, emails are full of bad news and we are all feeling the effects of today’s economy troubles and concerns. I don’t know of a single soul that hasn’t been effected and we are all trying to cut back on energy and Reduce Debt in an effort to stay alive and not go under. Families are being able to help each other out in ways that they are used to doing, other than opening their doors and homes to relatives that have lost everything and have no where else to go, there isn’t any extra money around to lend to relatives in their time of need and charities are struggling to keep up with the demands that are coming up in leaps and bounds.

At Reducedebt.net you can turn to for debt relief, they help thousands of people each year get rid of their debts and are there to help right online at your fingertips.

Hunting for Good Apartments

I can’t imagine 20 years ago trying to find a new place to live in an unknown place, 20 years ago we didn’t have the Internet to lesson the burden and bring the information right to your fingertips, as we have available to us these days.

Promove provides an intensive data base designed to assist with the locating of the perfect apartment, apartment community and neighborhoods, for your needs and wants. They advertise as “Promove’s apartment experts, have the keys to the City” and that they have the means to hook you up in either Atlanta Georgia or Dallas Texas with their specialist that take the time to understand your priorities and are kept up to date with all the newest promotions, offerings and specials in their specialized areas.

In Atlanta, there is a sweet apartment complex that they are offering by the name of Marietta Apartments, a Marietta Apartment starts out, for a studio, at $479 a month and go up to only $1025 monthly, for a four bedroom apartment, sounds very reasonable for being in such nice locations.

Having a good quality Apartment Locator certainly is the way to go, if you have access to the Internet, and Promove is an excellent tool for looking for the right apartment in these two southern states.

Sister may be Relocating to the UK

Birmingham is a city and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands, England and one of my sisters and her husband have the opportunity to go there because it is known as “the workshop of the world” or the “city of a thousand trades” and her husband’s company is thinking of establishing them elves there in the near future. She and I both hope that she doesn’t end up having to relocate way over there, I mean it would be a great opportunity and all, but we would all miss her and the kids just so much!In the meantime while his company is busy finding the most affordable, but nice hotels in Birmingham, my sister is running frantic wondering what to do with the kids and all the things that entail going away for an adventure like this. She isn’t sure what the weather will be like and is thinking that this will call for a wardrobe over haul, that sounds like fun to me, she is in the position to do something drastic like that. Her hubby makes good money and he is eager to go over to the U.K. and get to know the kind of place that it is and meet the people that he is told are called “Brummies”, a term derived from the city’s nickname of Brum, he is eager to hear how they pronounce that term. He is told that there is a distinctive “Brummie” dialect and accent, both of which differ from those of the adjacent Black Country. The Black Country, sounds interesting enough!

NFL Picks Online

One of the better quality sites that I frequent, Comcast.net has the current NFL football schedule, along with numerous other news worthy articles and links that I find useful, interesting and entertaining. Having the Internet makes the watching of television less necessary in an effort to find out what is going on in the world, outside of your little local area and their local news stations. A good portion of TV these days are being dedicated to news in one way or another. We can’t seem to get enough of it and more people want to be informed instantaneously and from a reliable source.

I find most of my information while online, everywhere you turn there are numerous ways to view news stories from around the world at the click of a few buttons. You get what you want, when you want it, easy as that.

Comcast.net offers a good variety of current stories, their sports section gets most of my attention as of late with the Super Bowl right around the corner and the play off games being as exciting and action packed as they have been this year. They have good videos, the scores and and the latest picks, I have the Steelers picked for this year’s winner, but only time will tell, in the mean time I’ll keep up to date online.

Sharky the dolphin dead after a head-on collision

Discovery Cove is an amusement park in Florida that was set up so that the visitors to the park could get into the water with the dolphins and interact with them.  As part of the day’s events, they visitors stand in the shallow end of a pool and observe some trained dolphins do a performance.  Sharky, a 30 year old female dolphin collided head on with 13 year old Tyler (a male.)  While Tyler appeared to be uninjured, Sharky suffered head injuries and died from the injuries.  I read all of this on the Internet at the guardian.co.uk website’s animal news section.  I happen to love all animals, and I was sad to hear about Sharky’s tragic death.  This tragedy has reopened the controversy over whether animal parks where animals are trained to do routines for the amusement of people are humane or not.

Today’s Speech by Obama on TV

I was fortunate enough to catch Obama’s speech early this afternoon, I was impressed with all that he had to say about concerning his plan of action that he intends to take for our suffering country. It wasn’t a very long speech, only lasting maybe 15 or 20 minutes, short, sweet and to the point.

He has his hands full and I wish him all the luck with all that will shortly be on his plate.

Social Security Going Online

I have been reading how the Social Security Administration is desperately trying to keep up with the large number of baby boomers that are now hitting retirement age. They are expecting to deal with the eligibility of 80 million baby boomers and are now beginning to accept applications online for quicker and less expensive processing.

One article stated that it normally takes a person 45 minutes to apply in person, while the online version takes a much shorter time frame of on the average of just 15 minutes. I can certainly see why they are changing their processing options, time is money and Social Security needs all the money that they can get their hands on with so many folks that are going to be submitting for their retirement funds that they have worked so hard for, for all these years.

Mexican toxic waste to be burned here in the USA?????

I was reading an article on the Internet about how Mexico is trying to bring toxic PCB waste that was produced in Mexico to Texas to be burned.  The burning of the waste would fill the air with toxic fumes that could affect the health of the people in the surrounding communities.   This business about polluting the planet in general with toxic waste has got to stop!  And letting other countries use our country as their dumping grounds just boggles my mind!  We have enough garbage of our own, we don’t need to import it!  And we certainly don’t need to import garbage that is going to risk the health of our citizens!

I sure hope that someone in authority stops that plan in its tracks!
