Look It Up On The Internet

It just really floats my boat that you can turn on your computer, go straight to Google, which many of us have as our Home Page anyway, and type in something as simple as “house for sale louisville ky” and badda boom, badda bing, you’ve got some of the most up-to-date and accurate information right there in front of your sweet Baby Blues.

I can’t tell you how often I ask someone a question and instead of them supplying me with the answer or telling me that they don’t know, I am told to “Look it up on the Internet” don’t get me wrong the Internet is awesome but sometimes I worry that we depend on it too much and what the consequences of that will be for all of us and at what point.

Too Much Paper and Plastic

With so much paper and plastic that we find necessary to carry around with us, my wallet can no longer contain everything that I need to have with me, it barely fits into my pants pocket anymore and it sure makes it uncomfortable to try and sit down most of the time.

I really don’t want to carry a briefcase with me, that just seems to conservative for my taste and lifestyle. After all I do live and work on a farm which is pretty much out in the boonies and only own two suits, so a briefcase just isn’t a good match. So I have ordered myself a nice jansport messenger bag online and am anxious to receive it, any day now and see if using a messenger bag will help the wallet situation.

Back To School Supplies All Ready

Every year the Back To School commercials start coming on the TV earlier and earlier. Around here the last day of school was around June 23rd, and I swear right after the 4th of July holiday was over the Back To School commercial commenced. What’s even crazier is that they are scheduled to go back to school at the end of August. Not much of a summer vacation if you ask me.

So right now there are great deals on laptops for students and I’m seriously considering taking advantage of these savings that anyone can cash in on. Not to mention pens, pencils, paper and all the other various “back to school” supplies that we all tend to need around the house, not just at school.

Taking Size in Consideration

Thinking hard about installing a whole new bathroom vanity and sink for the master bath here at the farm. The plumbing leaves a lot to be desired and needs updating badly, but that will have to wait until next year some time.

Bathroom vanities are not something that I really have paid much attention to in the past, but now that I have had to look and deal with this prehistoric model that has been here in the house since day one, I have been taking a look around on the Internet to get some ideas to ponder on.

I will forward the links to the Bathroom Vanities that I find and like online by email, to my older sister for her consideration, something that I find myself doing with most major decisions that come around regarding this old house and home. She has a vested interest in the place and I like to keep her in the loop for many reasons, and it’s just a common courtesy in my mind.

So far I have found one such Bathroom Vanity that looks promising, the bathroom is not big at all and I need to take that in consideration and find one on the petite and small side although I would like to be able to have room to install a Double Vanity. Maybe when I redo the bath on the upper level in the place, I can get one then.

Dad’s Old Recliner Days

My Dad had a very nice recliner that he spend so much time in when not busy around the house and farm and all that goes on day and night. He would usually find the time right after dinner to sit down in his very well broken in and comfortable recliner and smoke a cigar, sometimes a pipe, sipping his after dinner coffee and listening to the radio or the television for the latest news casts with their interesting and entertaining new stories and other broadcastings that caught his interest.

The last few years, his health had been getting worse and he was really having difficulty getting up and down, in and out of that chair and we had to shop around for a while and find an alternative type of seating arrangement for him. We ended up purchasing him a good lift chair, one of my sisters found a site online that sold the perfect chair for him, remote control and all the perks one could want in one of those Lift Chairs that are available now for people in their senior years and with disabilities as well.

It has been over 15 years since we purchased that chair, Dad made good use of it and it will stay right where it sits in the front living room, one day I’ll be needing to use it, that day may come sooner than I originally thought, with all the work that I have to do here at the farm and the house.

To Market

Sis is now looking into getting into the wholesale fragrances market and literally then taking her fragrances to the flea market on the good side of town that attracts a much higher clientele than the other local flea markets. She has always been into colognes and perfumes so this could really be something right up her alley. I might just roped into helping her transport her wares and set up the booth with her, but as long as it doesn’t keep me away from the farm the whole day I won’t mind.

Smart Cars

I’ve been hearing a lot about those new “Smart cars” and I’ve seen quite a few of them on the road.  I saw a short review of them, the reviewer was saying how great they are, they say that they only cost $15,000, are half the size of a “regular” car and get 33 mpg.  They seem to think that is wonderful.  I have to wonder about that because last year I bought a used Lumina that is in great shape for only $5,000 and it gets 26 mpg.  It seems to me that I got a pretty good deal!

So Many Tools

I have spent way too much time looking for various tools around here and coming up with nothing which is just crazy considering how many out buildings there are around the property that are pretty much filled with tools. Like yesterday I really needed a wiring loom, now I know darned well that I saw one the other week, but now that I really need one I just can’t seem to put my hands on it. I really hate having to buy something when I know that I all ready have one, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Trade Up and Save

The idea of being able to Trade Up and Save appeals to me since keeping an old outdated computer around just doesn’t make sense to me. My PC is a total dinosaur and I need a newer one, big time. So I’ve been checking out cheap desktops online and found a site that offers display models at big discounts as well as the opportunity to trade up as well. A double bonus that will hopefully get me and my computer needs and wants taken care of soon.

Nail Fungus, Going Natural

I have always tried to do what is best for our planet, our country and my health, without good health the deck is stacked against you, and can’t afford that gamble. Since growing up on a working farm with parents that came from the “old country” I have learned so many home remedies and am familiar with so many environmental issues as well.

Unfortunately one health concern never came about, as far as I can recall, is the issue of nail fungus, something that I do believe I am experiencing as of latek on two of my fingers on my left hand. So I took some time to look around on the Internet and found at Forces-of-nature.net, where they sell 100% natural certified organic treatments, and have several Nail Fungus Treatment products for sale and appear to be very affordable.

I would hate to make an appointment with the doctor and spend good money on an office visit, only to be handed an expensive prescription to be then taken to the drug store. All of this would take a good amount of gas and time, so I’m decided to give this natural solution a shot and have placed an order with them today. I’m glad that they accept PayPal, a good amount of online businesses are lacking that feature still and I am always happy to see the PayPal symbol along with the Visa, MC & Discovery ones being advertised.
