My Cousin’s Time of Need With Multiple Sclerosis

I know a few people that have Multiple Sclerosis, but to tell you the truth I don’t know a whole lot about MS but I’ve been doing a bit of research on the Internet and learning what I can. A cousin of ours has been experiencing Ms Symptoms and was recently diagnosed with MS so I figured I’d find out what I can and pass the information along to other family members as well. Knowledge is power and the Internet can provide us with a lot of knowledge, it’s unfortunate that my cousin doesn’t have Internet access, but most of the rest of the family does.

When I find good information I’m printing out what I find and will mail my cousin with what I can find that I think will be useful for him and his wife to use. His doctor wants him to follow a Multiple Sclerosis Diet and to exercise as much as possible. So I found a website allaboutms.com and found a Ms Diet and printed it out and put it in today’s mail to them. It’s a start and I’ll be finding out more as I go along and see if there is anything else that I can do for him in any way that I can. I’m just glad that they don’t live too far away from the rest of the family and I so that we can be there for him in his time of need.

Cantaloupe

One of my favorite healthy snacks is the good old cantaloupe. There are only a few days that you can cut into and eat a cantaloupe before it gets too soft and mushy. That is always the challenge. I’ve had to throw away way too many melons, all types of melons, not just cantaloupe, that have gone bad throughout the years because I waited too long to cut them up. I’m trying harder to only buy them when i know I can get around to eating them either the same day or the next morning. Longer than that and I’m afraid I’ll be wasting the money.

Mail Box Concerns

My older sister has been after me for some time now to purchase a new mailbox. The one that is out on the street now has been there since as long as I can remember and has seen better days, to be sure. She (my sister) saw a program on the TV the other evening that was all about the issue of the importance of people’s mailboxes. It seems that the police, fire fighters and ambulance drivers are having a hard time finding and/or reading the addresses in the emergency situations that they find themselves involved in.

Since I live here on the farm alone, my sister is always concerned with my health and safety issues. She means well but sometimes she gets carried away and really gets on my last nerve. Looking at mail boxes just isn’t something high on my list these days, so I told her that she should consider purchasing one for me and use it as my Christmas present. She hasn’t replied to that email as of yet, but I’m sure I’ll be hearing from her soon.

Michael Jackson

I had a few moments last night that I was able to watch the news. Too bad it was still full of stories concerning the recent death of Michael Jackson, the king of pop! It seems that they are deeming his death a homicide and it looks like we will be hearing still more about this issue for a very long time.

Enough is Enough Already

I don’t know about you but I’m about tired of all the media hype about Michael Jackson’s death. Other celebrities are passing away and not receiving squat but a quick shout out. This has gone way over the top at this point. It’s sad news indeed, but enough is enough.

Moving Along…

Man have things been hopping around the farm, as I knew it would. The weather has been perfect for the spring time planting season and I’ve gotten a lot done before the rains came this morning. The rain’s timing couldn’t have been any better. I’ve been doing most of the work myself and I haven’t been getting much sleep and lord knows I haven’t been eating well either, but things have been moving right along.

My stomach has been giving me some issues for a few months now, and now that I’m so busy, run down and not eating the right foods, so I’m looking into a natural colon cleanse product. I understand that it can do wonders for so many health issues, so I’m taking the time tonight to check out some information on the Internet about this process and the products that are out there that will do the job safely and efficiently.

House Fire = Burning Weed

I saw this on the news and had to look and see if I could find it on YouTube.com. I surprised myself and actually found it and had to share it here for a laugh.

2,000 Year Old Seed

I was reading an article on the Internet about how a two-thousand year old seed has been sprouted and is now growing quite steadily. So far it has been growing for thirty some odd  months and is now an amazing four feet tall. It is the seed of a Judean date tree which is now extinct. It seems that according to this article, several seeds of this type were discovered some forty years ago and have been stored until just recently, when a group of scientists decided to try to germinate it. I’m still not quite sure why they only tried one! Anyway, what is good and important about this is that they think (and hope) that the tree will have some medicinal uses. I’m all for that!

Life Insurance, a Necessity

After dealing with my parents deaths last year and seeing first hand the importance of having a decent life insurance policy, I have decided to start shopping around online for life insurance quotes. I’m not married, nor do I have children to worry about leaving behind, but I do want a decent burial service and my final expenses taken care of with no burdens placed on anyone in the family.

The Internet makes the task of getting these necessary quotes so much easier, less stressful and hassle free, so it comes into play once again in daily life on the farm.
