A Skin Brightener Offer

I’ve known a few people in my life that have had to deal with severe skin issues, such as scarring, melasma, age spots, liver spots and the like. So it was interesting reading at skinbright.com to see that they have products to help these types of issues. They are now offering a skin brightener that will help reduce the appearance of scars and discoloration at a discounted price. They even ship the package very discreetly for privacy concerns, and are currently running a promotion where you buy one and get two for free, that is a great value, an offer that you don’t get to see often enough.

This interesting product is made in America, it is a 100% natural product and they not use animals to do their testings on, which I would like to see more companies doing. As well as giving you, the buyer, a 30 day, risk free guarantee, you may return the bottle for a complete refund, even if the bottle is completely empty.

When you purchase from Skin Bright you are ordering directly from the manufacturer, there for cutting out the cost of the middleman, which in turn saves you and the company valuable time and money. An interesting product to check out and see if it can help with your skin brightening issues.

Tomatoes

Every spring I get so anxious after planting the gardens in the back, I can’t wait to see what will be popping up and how fast, and what seeds have been eaten by birds or squirrels and need re-planting. We have been granted a bunch of rain lately which has made things start off on a good foot and I am craving the tomatoes already. During the summer months I tend to put on a few pounds due to the high consumption of tomato sandwiches which are so easy to make and taste so good in the hot days of summer.

NYC Looking for Alternative Energy Sources

New York Mayor Bloomburg announced a plan to pursue alternative energy sources for NYC. The major thrust of this plan is to put wind turbines on the tops of buildings and bridges, and along the coastal shores or water of the Atlantic. The City has issued requests for proposals from interested companies and organizations to make this happen. The power grid servicing the NYC area has been overburdened and faulty over the years, with brownouts and blackouts happening more frequently as demand for electricity continues to increase.

New York experimented with wind power several years ago when it put a turbine on city-owned land at 34th Street and the East River, but found that technology at the time was not efficient enough to expand to other properties and it was abandoned.

Proposals can include plans to build wind-based, solar-based and water-based energy sources in New York and offshore as far as 25 miles into the Atlantic. this would be a great model for other major cities to follow. We will be following this closely to see if the results are worth adapting for this area in the future.

One Hundred Thousand Tons of Trash!

The news is telling us that one hundred thousand tons of trash was left on the grounds after the Presidential Inauguration festivities were over and done with. The is a extremely large number, and it really bothers me that people would have left so much behind for the city to pick up and dispose of. Most of the items where paper related products and could have been recycled, can you imagine how much room  all of that will take up in the landfill? Disturbing news to read, but I’m glad that I wasn’t one of the people responsible to trashing the place that day or responsible for cleaning it up for that matter.

Car Loans, Still Available with Bad Credit Issues

It is a very good thing that you can still apply online for and receive new and used car loans for people with bad credit, it appears that a good amount of people are receiving bad credit reports due to the economy and people losing their jobs and homes and not being able to keep up with all of their bills. We are now in a full blown depression folks and the news is full of talk about times getting tougher, before getting any better. Not good news to hear, I’m afraid, this has had the worst trickle down effect on each and every one of us in decades and people are getting very edgy and frightened, and for good reason.

Sometimes we all need to turn somewhere for financial assistance, friends and family are hard put to help each other out as they are generally accustomed to doing in the past. And with the need to start driving more energy efficient vehicles that are coming out more and more on the market and available at great prices right now and need for new car loans are getting greater and greater so online shopping for your loan needs only makes sense, all the way around.

Brazilian President Defends Using Corn for Biofuel

I was reading on the Internet at the Reuter’s website that the Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva felt compelled to speak in defense of using corn for biofuel.  He claims that his country is not contributing to global warming or food shortages by growing corn for biofuel.  This was in apparent reaction to a week’s worth of demonstrations held in Europe and Brazil that were being held to protest how the use of corn to create biofuel appears to be bad for the economy, the environment, and is creating a world wide food shortage.  From the article that I read it appears to me that the largest critics are those who have a vested interest in keeping the world dependent on fossil fuels.  Of course, that’s just my perception, I could be wrong, but that’s what it appears like to me!

Mexican toxic waste to be burned here in the USA?????

I was reading an article on the Internet about how Mexico is trying to bring toxic PCB waste that was produced in Mexico to Texas to be burned.  The burning of the waste would fill the air with toxic fumes that could affect the health of the people in the surrounding communities.   This business about polluting the planet in general with toxic waste has got to stop!  And letting other countries use our country as their dumping grounds just boggles my mind!  We have enough garbage of our own, we don’t need to import it!  And we certainly don’t need to import garbage that is going to risk the health of our citizens!

I sure hope that someone in authority stops that plan in its tracks!

The deforestation of the Amazon jungles in the name of the environment

I was reading the Internet version of the April 7 2008 issue of Time Magazine, the article titled “The Clean Energy Myth” about how the big rush to grow corn to use for biofuel is actually worsening the global warming problem and raising the cost of food. Apparently the demand for corn for producing biofuel is so high that the farmers are selling their corn to the companies that will be turning it into fuel instead of selling it to the companies that will be using it to make food. So much of the world depends on corn as a staple; this is causing hardships for them. And the profit for growing corn for fuel is so high that the Amazon jungle, which has already been in jeopardy from deforestation for years now, is being destroyed even faster than ever so that it can be used to grow corn.
I think that this is a shame on so many levels. There are other, better and cheaper plants that could be used for creating fuel than corn. So many farmers are paid subsidies to NOT grow crops, I think that those subsidies should be stopped so that the farmers will actually farm their land, or lease it to someone who will farm it. The Amazon forest needs to be protected, I don’t understand how the ownership of that works, who actually owns that property and why is he/she allowing it to be destroyed? Can’t the government of the country it is in buy it with some kind of eminent domain power and protect it from destruction?

Little by little

Well I did find the perfect little tree to cut down last weekend.  I decided on a three foot tree to put on a small table in front of the parlor window so that people can see it when they drive up the driveway at night.  I don’t want a larger one because I don’t think I’ll have a lot of time to decorate it.  After cutting the tree I brought it up to the house and let it rest for a few days before bringing it into the house.  I couldn’t find the tree lights that we used last year, so I had to go to the store and buy some new.  That was annoying, I KNOW I had hundreds and hundreds of them, but I can’t find them anywhere!  Anyway, I strung the lights on the tree last night, I hope to get the decorating finished by the end of this weekend.

Snow making at Yellowstone Park

I was really surprised to read today on the LATimes website that Yellowstone Park is going to be using snow machines to make snow in the park this winter.  I guess I never thought about why in the world a National Park would even think about doing something like that?  Seems to me that the Park is supposed to be all about nature, and if it snows then fine, if it doesn’t snow, well that’s fine too!  But the article was talking about how making snow in the park would allow snow coaches and snowmobiles to use the park in the winter.  To be honest, I’m not so sure that is a great idea or not!  I don’t have anything against snow coaches or snowmobiles, its’ just something I never really thought about in the context of them being in Yellowstone!  What do YOU think?  I’d like your opinion!
