Memories Are Held In The Wedding Guest Book

One special place for many people to look back at the memory of their wedding is in their wedding guest book. Wedding guest books are a place for people to make comments to the bride and groom and leave them with a special message or warm wishes. It also acts as a roll call or list of everyone that attended the wedding.

Guest books are no longer just a book or register in which people write their names. There are other more modern options out there. A large photograph of the bride and groom with a framed mat is a nice alternative to the standard book. Guests can sign the mat and leave a personal note. The happy couple can then display this photo of them in their home and remember everyone and be reminded of what they wished upon them every time they look at the picture.

If an actual book is more your style and taste there are many types to choose from. Custom wedding guest books can be made to fit your theme and bridal party colors. You can go from simple and elegant to modern and sleek. There is something out there for every couple. It all depends on what you want.

Wedding Favor Boxes Can Enhance Your Wedding Favors

Once you decide on your wedding favors it’s time to find the perfect wedding favor boxes to present the favors to your guests. Wedding favor boxes are a great way to set out items on the guest tables and have them blend in with the decor. Maybe you are offering leather key rings but the color of the key ring doesn’t really match the decor. By putting the favor into a box you can chose the color and presentation that is displayed and keep the color palate of the wedding intact.

Wedding favor boxes don’t have to be expensive. There are plenty options of favor boxes that are affordable and don’t’ look cheap but are quality products. You can usually find them in paper, plastic and tin. These don’t even mention other types of boxes that really are part of the favor as well and not just fancy packaging.

For example, you could place a wine stopper and coaster set inside a miniature picnic basket as a nice favor for your guests at an outdoor vineyard wedding. The picnic basket really is the favor box but is stylish and functional too! Its’ possible to find wedding favor boxes that actually enhance the favors inside, as seen in my example with the picnic basket.

Celebrating the Unity Ceremony With Sand & Candles

It is becoming more and more popular for couples to elect to have some form of unity ceremony during their wedding service. Unity ceremonies can symbolize the joining of two families into one and or the joining of the bride and groom into one flesh. The unity ceremony can be performed with candles or sand.

The candle unity ceremony consists of two long tapered candles and one larger unity candle. The tapered candles can either represent the bride and groom each or their respective families. It’s common for a representative from each family to light the tapered candles. This is usually done by the mothers of the bride and groom. During the ceremony the bridge and groom light the larger unity candle together with their tapered candles. This large candle represents the new couple and or the joining of the families into one unit that love the happy couple. The unity candle is often decorated with the wedding invitation, monogram, some inscription or a picture of the couple. These candles are more than often white in color. Depending on the representation and symbolism the couples elect to follow the individual tapered candles may be blown out or left lit.

A similar unity ceremony can be performed using sand. Instead of lighting a candle together, the couple uses colored sand from individual vessels and pours them together into a larger container. The sand can match the color scheme of the bridal party or be your classic black and white. Some couples elect to use a different color for each family member and have everyone participate, especially if there are children involved in the new marriage.

Whether you choose to have a sand or candle unity ceremony is up to you. There are many options to choose from style wise to have the perfect additions to your wedding ceremony.

My Best Friend Is Getting Married

My best friend, Jill, came over tonight for dinner. It was really great to catch up with her. She went home for the holidays and we haven’t got to spend much time together since before Christmas. We filled each other in on our New Year’s resolutions and updated each other with news from over the holidays.

Well, Jill had the biggest news of all. She is getting married and she asked me to be her maid or I guess matron of honor. I’m soo excited to help her plan her wedding. It’s not her first wedding but she has been divorced for 10 years and is starting over with an incredible man.

They want to have a big bash and invite all of their friends and family. Her first wedding was very small and just a few family members and very close friends. I think she wants to go all out and have a big giant party this time around.

I’ve been married now for 12 years myself. Some days it seems like we just got married yesterday and were sending out the wedding invitations. Other days it seems like we’ve spent more than an eternity together already.

I’m soo happy for Jill and Chris. I know it’s going to take a lot of planning and preparations, but that’s what best friends are for right?

Wedding Favor Bags Can Enhance Your Favors

Once you determine what wedding favors you are going to give your family and friends, your next task will be to determine how to present them. A great option is to use wedding favor bags. Wedding favor bags solve many problems. Maybe your favors are small, don’t come in packaging of their own, or don’t match your decor.

With the use of wedding favor bags your problems are solved. You prevent your guest from loosing their tiny trinkets, everyone has something to carry their favor in, and now you can add personal touches so that the favors blend in with your decor seamlessly.

Organza wedding favor bags are an elegant choice. They add a little flair and color but they still let your favor shine through because they are sheer. They are easy to enhance and embellish as well. Try adding ribbon in the colors of your bridal party or maybe a charm to the bags. Your guests will love the fine details. They are especially great to use for favors that you may have made yourself.

Wedding favor bags look great at every place setting at the reception. Choose favor bags that make a statement and impress all of your guests.

Wine Wedding Favors For Everyone

Wine wedding favors are an excellent addition to any wedding reception because they are so flexible they can fit in anywhere. They can even fill the shoes of the last minute wedding favor because they can accommodate any theme.

Wine wedding favors include all aspects of favors that relate to wine products. These encompass wine stoppers, personalized wine bottles, wine glasses, coasters and more. Wine stoppers are one of my favorite wine wedding favors, well because I love to drink wine and I don’t want to drink a whole bottle by myself. To easily incorporate a wine stopper into your theme simply select a style or design that compliments it. For example, for a Valentine’s Day wedding maybe a stopper in the shape of hearts would be nice. For a garden wedding maybe you could offer a flower or leaf  shaped stopper. The possibilities are endless.

If glasses are more your style, try commemorating the occasion with monogrammed or personalized wine glasses or champagne flutes. Every time your guests drink from the lovely glasses they will be reminded of you.

Coasters are a nice practical wine wedding favor to give to your friends and family. These can be used by people of all ages and by those that choose to drink alcohol or not. You could have your favorite quote printed or engraved on them and everyone will love them.

Make wine wedding favors a part of your special day and your guests will thank you.

Wedding Planning and Research is Relaxing

Jill has been totally amazed by how much stuff I’ve been doing for her wedding. They haven’t even set a date and I’ve been looking up all sorts of things from wedding favors, to unity ceremonies. She called me this morning to say thanks you when she was reading my blog while having her morning coffee.

I told her it was the least I could do. But really I might even be more excited to do this than I have been about anything in a very long time. That’s probably why I’ve jumped in head first and have been going a little research crazy about planning her wedding. Her only fear is that I will get burned out because I’m doing so much. She doesn’t want me to overwhelm myself.

I told her not to worry because doing all of this fun research is actually really relaxing. It makes me feel excited and I get a rush browsing wedding websites and Pinterest in search of new ideas and themes I had never even dreamed of when it came to a wedding and reception.

The way I see it by the time I’m done planning her wedding I’ll be an expert and can help other friends and family do it all over again. I’ll have all of the research done and we’ll just have to browse my stuff. Then again, I could be dreaming and completely delusional. I guess we wait and find out.
