Pet Peeves

Two sheets of toilet paper, a sip of milk, the heels of bread… When someone leaves these behind it always drives me nuts.  Leaving the last little bit of something for someone else to take care of is one of my biggest pet peeves.  To me it just says that the person is lazy and inconsiderate.  I mean really?  What are you going to do with a tablespoon of milk or two sheets of toilet paper? I suppose if I was a man and I cut myself saving I MIGHT have a use for a small piece of tissue but not the few drops of milk.

It’s not that hard to change the roll of toilet paper when you get down to the end of the roll.  It’s just as easy to toss out the empty milk carton as it is to put it back in the fridge.  Stop being lazy people and consider how you would feel if you went to get a bowl of cereal and only found a few drops left in the container.

Take responsibility for your actions and be considerate of others.  Remember the “Golden Rule” to treat other people how you would like to be treated.

Some Jokes Are Not Funny

Today is April Fool’s Day and I know the sophomoric guys at work are going to be playing jokes on everyone all day long.  This is the day when you really do have to watch your back, or there might be a piece of paper taped to your shirt that says, “Kick Me!”

Last year someone set a cup of water on top oft he door to the kitchen, so that when someone came through the door, the cup tipped over and splashed on an unsuspecting victim.  It was not very funny when it splashed on a company guest being taken to the kitchen for a cup of coffee before his business meeting.

Networks Drive Me Nuts

Computers are so very awesome and I love them.  Really, I do love them.  I have worked hard over the years to learn all the big software programs.  I used MS Word and MS Excel almost every day.  I love the internet and use Firefox all the time, although once in a while I go to a site that requires IE.

What trips me up is the network side of computers.  I know about routers and modems, but why do I have so much trouble with these routers?   I have to buy a new router just about every year.  And, I never touch the dang thing – it is in the basement on an old desk, next to an old PC and printer that I don’t use any more but don’t want to toss out yet.

But about once a year, I start having connection problems and then I have to go down to the basement and reset the router.  When I have to reset it every couple of days for a couple of weeks, then I know it is about to quit working and I start shopping the sales ads for a new router.

Club Rules

club rules

The only thing wrong with these rules is that the club owners found it necessary to write them all down and post them.

The Ides of March

I remember hearing, “Beware, the Ides of March!” when I was in high school.  It’s from a play about Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare.  But, I never knew what date really IS the Ides of March!  Maybe I should look it up.

Winter’s Wrath

This is a brutally cold winter for me.   I don’t like cold weather at all. It takes a lot of effort for me to even leave the house when it is snowing and sleeting outside.  I won’t drive on snow and ice covered roads unless I have no other choice.

Really looking forward to getting this winter weather behind us and on to Spring.  I might even start tanning this weekend, just to keep my spirits up.

Christmas Jitters!

Well, it’s two days before Christmas.  I’m getting ready to leave out of town and I am not dreading the family time this holiday around.  I can’t wait to walk into my mother’s house and to be welcomed by Christmas music and the smell of holiday treats!  The family time on this in particular holiday is splendid.  It’s time to be cozy warm by the fireplace, watch Christmas movies, and drink hot chocolate!

Getting Closer…

I have almost finished my Christmas shopping!  I’m sure my credit card companies love me, along with my family.  They have all gotten some pretty sweet gifts this year.  My family and I have decided for me not to cook. I love to cook but this year I get a break.  So as long as I bring the gifts and the cookies I will be a hero!  Bring it on, Christmas!

What I want for Christmas

So my friends have been asking me what I want for Christmas.  After much deliberation I have decided that I want anything Elvis.  Ever since I was a child I have always loved him.  So of course I got online to see what new Elvis merchandise was available and I found a wonderful Elvis alarm clock.  So now I know what I want.  Maybe Santa will bring it for me.
