Family Movie Night Starring Tinkerbell

Woo hoo! We made it through the week. I can’t believe it’s Friday! I’m looking forward to having a nice relaxing weekend at home with the family. I noticed that the new Tinkerbell movie is on television. I added it to our queue while I ate my lunch today. I think we’ll do a family movie night tonight when I get home.

I’ve been wanting to see this movie ever since I found out that it was coming out. I found out by stumbling across videos on YouTube one day and then got hooked. I’m a huge Tinkerbell fan. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m a big kid at heart.

Anyway, family movie night tonight. I think it would be fun to order pizza and make banana splits. I’ll have to run by the grocery store really quick on my way home to get some ice cream and bananas but I think I can do it and still get home at a reasonable time.

What are your plans for the weekend? Do you have anything fun planned or are you just going to take it one day at a time and see what life brings your way? I’ll love to be inspired for plans next week. Share away.

Save Space with TV Wall Mounts

We have three big flat screen televisions in our home.  One of them is in our family room with a big entertainment center.  I’ve been thinking of taking the entertainment center out to give us some more floor space and getting one of the crimson mounts to mount it to the wall. The kids have a lots of toys int he family room and I’m thinking it might be nice if there is more room to walk around all of the toys without having to avoid the entertainment center too.

Don’t get me wrong, I love our giant entertainment center, I’m not getting rid of it. I’m just moving it to another room and getting another television. I was thinking of getting one of those really neat mounts that swivel and can come out from the wall to face different directions. My neighbors have one and they love it.  They have it in their living room and use it to turn the television toward the kitchen and dining room when they want to watch television at the table. Some times I’ll allow this, sometimes I won’t. It would be nice to have that option though.

Come to think of it it would be nice to use to watch cooking programs while I’m in the kitchen. Hmm, I might be having my husband pick up more than one of these for our home.

How Much Data Do You Use On Your Smart Phone?

I have a smart phone and currently have a plan on my phone to have unlimited data. It costs me $30 a month. I’m wondering if I really need that. It’s almost the same price I pay to have the internet in my home. My home internet is only $40 a month.  It seems kind of crazy to be be paying for two services like that. When I’m at home I get free internet on my phone because it uses my home wifi. I guess the only time I am really using what I pay for with the unlimited data is when I am out and about.

My question to everyone is how much data do you think you use when you are out and about? What do you use your data on? I do check my Facebook when I’m out. But that couldn’t possibly add up to needing unlimited data could it? Yes maybe I’ll use it to watch video if I’m waiting at the doctor’s office to be seen. But again, I don’t so it all of the time.

I’m considering changing my data plan. I could be paying half the price and still have plenty of data that I don’t  think I would ever come close to using. I don’t know why I haven’t done it sooner. It’s really an expense that doesn’t make much sense to have.

Thinking About Trying A New Musical Instrument

I’ve told many of you that my friends and family are really into playing musical instruments. I was thinking of trying out something new myself. I’m looking for an affordable harmonica at Musicians friend. I choose the harmonica for a few reasons, but mainly because it is small and I can easily take it with me any where I would like to go.

I’m really excited about the idea of not having to buy replacement parts of things like reeds or picks in order to play this. It’s one piece that can be broken down for cleaning but I don’t have to add anything to it. It sounds like the perfect instrument for me because I won’t have to worry about forgetting something and not being able to play.

Street Musician Plays The Tuba

I saw one of the most inserting things today on my lunch break. I went out to lunch and enjoyed it outside on the patio. While I ate my lunch a man walked up near the patio, sat down and opened up a case. He pulled out a beautiful tuba and started playing some of the most peaceful music I have ever heard.

It was so interesting to see a street musician playing a tuba. It’s really not the instrument I would ever guess to see some one carry around to just start playing in a random location.  However, that made the experience all the more special because it was so unexpected.

Hooked on SongPop Free

The latest way I pass my free time away is with a game called SongPop. I downloaded the free version to my smart phone.  One of my friends suggested that I play it with her and now I can’t seem to get enough of it.

Here’s the premise – an audio clip of a song is played and it is your job to guess either the song title or the artist performing the song. It’s multiple choice so you aren’t having to work too hard. You play against an opponent and try to beat them in both speed and accuracy. As you play and answer correctly you unlock more songs in each category. You get to select the category you compete in against too. My best category so far is love songs and my worse category is modern rap which really isn’t surprising at all to me.

In each round you earn either 1 coin for losing or 3 coins for winning. You can spend your coins to unlock new song categories like TV theme songs, movie sound tracks, disco, doo wop, jazz and so much more. I really recommend this to any music enthusiast and to anyone who just wants to play a fun game during free time.

Do You Know How To Facebook?

Do you know how to Facebook? Are you a new user or maybe you have been using it for a few years? What do you use Facebook for?

I have to be honest, I only recently became more active and using Facebook not too long ago. Most of my friends have Facebook accounts and use them to do all sorts of things from playing games to hooking up with people the went to elementary school with.

I mainly use Facebook to connect with my family and friends that don’t live in the same area that I do. It’s a handy way to share photos and little stories about what is going on in our life. I like it because it makes me feel like I’m better connected with my family. And now, I’m not just a Christmas letter that people get from me once a year telling them every thing that has happened in our family over the year.

I do keep my privacy settings to only allow my friends to see my Facebook page or timeline because I wouldn’t be posting things online for everyone to see. I mean I don’t post public photos of my family on my own blog and that’s public domain so I won’t be posting them for the entire world to see on Facebook either.

Do You Enter Giveaways?

Do you enter giveaways? Would you guys be interested in any giveaways from me and my blog, or would I totally be just wasting my time? I know most everyone likes free stuff but some times people pass up the opportunity to get it.

What deters you from participating in a giveaway? Is it that you aren’t willing to give out your contact information? Do you pass an opportunity by when you can see the number of entries so far and if it’s a large number just keep going? DO you enter if you see that the number of entries so far is low?

What attracts you to free giveaways? Is it just the free stuff? Do you only participate in giveaways for products or services that you would actually appreciate and enjoy? Or you one of the people that will take what ever you can get as long as it is free? I know a few people that enter every giveaway possible and end up with tons of free stuff, half of which they will never use. I suppose a nice thing to do with products you won’t use would be to give them away your self or donate them to a good cause.

if I were to offer a giveaway her on my blog what would you like me to giveaway?

Family Fun With A Bubble Machine

Bubbles, bubbles, everywhere! My kids love to play with bubbles. They just can’t seem to get enough of them. I love seeing their faces as they chase bubbles around or try to blow some bubbles of their own. One of our neighbors got a bubble machine at Musician’s Friend. The kids had so much fun when they brought it over and filled it up with bubbles.

Bubble machines are great because you don’t have to do any of the work of trying to blow the bubbles yourself. I love that I don’t have to keep dipping the bubble stick into a jar and repeatedly blow bubble after bubble. It’s like instant gratification. Turn the bubble machine on and you have tons of bubbles to chase to your hearts delight.

I’m thinking it would be lots of fun to get one of these bubble machines of our own for the kids for Christmas. It’s pretty close but it might not be too late. I’ll have to see if I can get one delivered with rush delivery if it isn’t too expensive. Seeing the smile on the faces of the kids from playing with the bubbles is worth every penny in my opinion.

The Wizard of Oz, An Old Favorite

The Wizard Of Oz is a classic in my book. I remember watching it on television as a child with my parents in our living room. I thought it was completely amazing when I saw Dorothy walk out of her house into Oz when it was all in color. It seemed like magic to me.

I loved the Lollipop Kids too! I thought they were adorable and I asked my mom if I could visit them and play at their house. I saw their giant lollipops and fell in love.

The movie had its scary parts too. The flying monkeys creeped me out. I hid my face in my daddy’s chest and asked when they disappeared. I wasn’t only afraid of the monkeys; the talking trees also gave me the heebie jeebies. I could handle talking scarecrows but when the trees started talking I thought they were nuts.

Every time I see this movie on television now, I always stop changing the channel and enjoy the rest of the movie. It’s a wonderful movie to share with your family.
