Discovery Cove is an amusement park in Florida that was set up so that the visitors to the park could get into the water with the dolphins and interact with them.\u00a0 As part of the day’s events, they visitors stand in the shallow end of a pool and observe some trained dolphins do a performance.\u00a0 Sharky, a 30 year old female dolphin collided head on with 13 year old Tyler (a male.)\u00a0\u00a0While Tyler appeared to be uninjured, Sharky suffered head injuries and died from the injuries.\u00a0 I read all of this on the Internet at the guardian.co.uk website’s animal\u00a0news section.\u00a0 I happen to love all animals, and I was sad to hear about Sharky’s tragic death.\u00a0 This tragedy has reopened the controversy over whether animal parks where animals are trained to do routines for the amusement of people are humane or not.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
