I was reading on the Internet at the Reuter’s website that the Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva felt compelled to speak in defense of using corn for biofuel.\u00a0 He claims that his country is not contributing to global warming or food shortages by growing corn for biofuel.\u00a0 This was in apparent reaction to a week’s worth of\u00a0demonstrations held in Europe and Brazil that were being held to protest how the use of corn to create biofuel appears to be bad for the economy, the environment, and is creating a world wide food shortage.\u00a0 From the article that I read it appears to me that the largest critics are those who have a vested interest in keeping the world dependent on fossil fuels.\u00a0 Of course, that’s just my perception, I could be wrong, but that’s what it appears like to me!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
