{"id":566,"date":"2011-09-26T14:20:31","date_gmt":"2011-09-26T20:20:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suzistrauss.com\/?p=566"},"modified":"2011-09-26T14:20:31","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T20:20:31","slug":"do-your-best-on-the-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/worpal.com\/susiestrauss\/2011\/09\/26\/do-your-best-on-the-test\/","title":{"rendered":"Do Your Best on the Test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that school is back in session it&#8217;s much quieter around the neighborhood during the day. \u00a0All of the kids are back in school and filling their brains with a wealth of knowledge. \u00a0Of course with all of the new things they learn they are also tested on it.<\/p>\n<p>In order to get the children to do their best and perform, a lot of teachers are starting to provide\u00a0test taking incentives. One of the neighbor kids came home and showed off some fancy pencils and bookmarks. \u00a0She said her teacher gave them to the whole class. \u00a0It reminded me of a time when I was in school and we had to take the yearly standardized tests. \u00a0The test was called the CAP Test. \u00a0Our teachers gave us all a decorated baseball cap and called them our &#8220;Thinking Caps&#8221;. \u00a0We got to wear them during the times we were taking the tests. \u00a0I think the entire class was totally convinced that our &#8220;thinking caps&#8221; had super powers and made us smarter.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if the neighbor&#8217;s teacher told her class that the pencils had super powers and would help them get the right answers to the test questions. \u00a0I&#8217;ll have to ask her when she comes home from school today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now that school is back in session it&#8217;s much quieter around the neighborhood during the day. \u00a0All of the kids are back in school and filling their brains with a wealth of knowledge. \u00a0Of course with all of the new things they learn they are also tested on it.
