{"id":1032,"date":"2013-08-01T21:01:37","date_gmt":"2013-08-02T01:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suzistrauss.com\/?p=1032"},"modified":"2013-08-01T21:01:37","modified_gmt":"2013-08-02T01:01:37","slug":"10-budget-friendly-potluck-ideas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/worpal.com\/susiestrauss\/2013\/08\/01\/10-budget-friendly-potluck-ideas\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Budget Friendly Potluck Ideas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/i1309.photobucket.com\/albums\/s630\/suzistrauss\/potluck.gif\" alt=\"Photobucket\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s\u00a0potluck\u00a0time again. \u00a0This weekend we celebrate the service of our military and in doing so many of us attend or host a potluck. \u00a0Many people are on limited budget and can&#8217;t afford to spend upwards of $40 and $50 to go to a potluck. \u00a0I&#8217;ve put together a list of ideas that will feed a crowd and won&#8217;t rob\u00a0your\u00a0pocket book.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Big pot of chili<\/strong> &#8211; toss some inexpensive beans in the crock pot with some tomato sauce and chili\u00a0seasoning, add a pound of ground beef and you&#8217;re all set. \u00a0You can even be fancy and get some corn bread mix and\u00a0serve\u00a0it along side.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pasta Bake\u00a0<\/strong> &#8211; pasta can be bought for pennies. Get a few pounds of your favorite shape, cook till al dente and toss with\u00a0your\u00a0favorite sauce. \u00a0Pour it into a big\u00a0casserole\u00a0dish and sprinkle it with cheese. Easy Peasy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Baked Bean Casserole<\/strong> &#8211; again beans are cheap. \u00a0Toss them together with onions, celery, brown sugar, dried\u00a0mustard, tomato\u00a0sauce\u00a0and a bit of\u00a0barbecue\u00a0sauce and you&#8217;re all set.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Delived Eggs<\/strong> &#8211; a dozen will usually run you under $2.
