{"id":138,"date":"2008-02-18T18:41:35","date_gmt":"2008-02-18T23:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.darlenemackenzie.com\/?p=138"},"modified":"2008-02-18T18:41:35","modified_gmt":"2008-02-18T23:41:35","slug":"survivor-is-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/worpal.com\/darlenemckenzie\/2008\/02\/18\/survivor-is-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Survivor is back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hubby and I have such different tastes in what we watch on the boob tube.\u00a0 One of the very few shows that we both enjoy\u00a0has been\u00a0the Survivor series.\u00a0 We have watched it since day one and still enjoy watching together when we can, and thank goodness for TIVO.<\/p>\n<p>This season is different because it is pitting up a tribe consisting of regular people that are fans of the show against a tribe consisting of previous Survivor contestants from the past years.\u00a0 Every season they find a way to change things around just enough so that it keeps things fresh and\u00a0from becoming a bore.<\/p>\n<p>A few years ago the kids and I were at a local parade and for some reason I was under the bleachers when I ran into &#8220;Tom&#8221; a Survivor contestant, a farmer from the southern part of Virginia,\u00a0he was there because he\u00a0was being featured in the parade, he was of course wearing his blue jean overalls and was very friendly, shook my hand, chatted a moment or two\u00a0and went on his way, towards the back, probably to the Don&#8217;s Johns.<\/p>\n<p>I know there are a lot of people that dislike the show but it has kept us entertained for several years and I hope that they can keep up the good work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hubby and I have such different tastes in what we watch on the boob tube.\u00a0 One of the very few shows that we both enjoy\u00a0has been\u00a0the Survivor series.\u00a0 We have watched it since day one and still enjoy watching together when we can, and thank goodness for TIVO.
