Recycle old cell phones!

Since the Christmas season is almost over, there are a lot of people with new electronic items. One thing we can all do to give Mother Earth a present is to make sure those old electronic items are reused or recycled. I have put together a few tips to help you along.

1. If your cell phone still works, you may donate it to a good charity.
2. Before you send your item to be recycled, be sure you wipe away any data that could be detrimental if the wrong person gets a hold of it.
3. Many manufacturers will take back their old electronics, check with them first.
4. Be sure to buy “Green” products. These products are made with Mother Earth in mind from the start.

Taking Action!!

There are many things in life that can go wrong. One thing that I heard about recently from a friend of mine at work was a surgery gone badly. To be more correct, the surgery was good, the device that was implanted was not! My friend Edger had a bad hip. He needed to replace the hip joint with a device that would allow him to lead a fairly normal life. He went through the surgery and had a durom cup hip replacement. Things seemed to go well and we all thought he would be ok.

The problem didn’t arrive until a few years after the surgery. The doctors wanted to operate again to surgically revise the device that had been implanted. They thought the device was loose and needed to fix it. It turns out that Edger was not alone in this matter as there were other people who had issues on zimmer durom cup. It seemed to be a recurring problem with this particular device.

I know that there are many more people out there who have gone through this type surgery. I strongly advise that if you know of such a person, you tell them to look into the situation. There is a lot of information on the different zimmer durom cup types and the implications of each. I hope that no one else has this kind of problem, but if you did, you should be sure to take appropriate action!

The Holiday Season

This has been a wonderful holiday season for my family. We had a great big ham dinner with all the trimmings and quite a houseful of people. Anyone who could not make the trip to our house called in instead and talked with everyone there. It was a great time for all. The only bad part is the mess of dishes that were left behind. I guess we’ll soon have them cleaned up and be back to normal!

The latest on Pirates

It seems the pirates in Somalia are undeterred by efforts to eliminate them. Several countries have ships in the water guarding the shipping trades and other measures have been taken to reduce the threat that piracy poses. So far, efforts have done little to stop the lucrative trade. This has left many countries pondering the possible solution to the problem.

One of the main ideas is to stop piracy where it starts, inside Somalia. But there are few countries that wish to enter the country with ground troops to break up the ring. There seems to be few answers to this problem as the pirates continue to wreak havoc on the high seas!

Our country

One thing that I enjoy doing on a nightly basis is reading. Each night before I go to sleep, I like to read a few pages which helps me to sleep. One subject that I really like to read about is American history. Whether it’s Indians or the California gold rush, I like to learn about the ways in which our country was built. The gold rush of 1849 is really interesting to me. Little did these miners know that they were helping our country grow.

Nowadays, we all know the benefits that gold brings to those who own it. It is a stable mineral whose value is always in demand. No matter what the world situation is gold is always a valuable asset. Whenever the world is shocked by wars, natural disasters, or government defaults, people rely on the staying power of gold to overcome the inadequacies of paper money.

Along with the other natural commodities that our country produced, gold was one of the products that helped our economy grow. We used it to pay our taxes and to develop new areas that were previously unproductive. The miners that worked in the fields helped our country become strong and independent. I am glad to know that our people spring from such a hardy and independent group!

Afghanistan

The U. S. military buildup in Afghanistan is beginning. Troops are arriving every day in an effort to bolster the 68,000 troops already there. At this point, it is still too early to say how this will affect morale. The pentagon has high hopes that the buildup will help us win the war. In addition to troops, the brass is sending in additional equipment as well.

The militaries already heavy use of drone aircraft is being increased. The drones allow us to keep an eye on the enemy. New advances in this equipment are helping to keep us better informed about enemy troop movements. I hope that the addition of troops on the ground and new equipment will allow us to make better headway in the war on terror.

At home comfort

There have been many times in my life when I thought I knew more than I did. This happened to me the other day when my daughter came home with her math book in hand. She asked me a question and I was sure I would be able to help. The problem was that after looking over the question, I didn’t have a clue about how to solve it! That’s when I decided that we needed some Math help to get the job done.

We decided to go online to see whether or not we could find out something about math. While there were many sites, the answers were not what we were looking for or were too complicated to figure out. That’s when we thought that by getting some Online math tutoring, we would be able to much better understand the material. We found a site called tutorvista.com that offered the help we needed.

There are many advantages when you utilize Online math help. The best part is that you don’t have to leave the house. We were able to rest in the comfort of our home while working through the problems. Another benefit was receiving the one on one tutoring we desired. This made the whole thing easy and painless. I am sure that from now on, we will continue to seek help online when we need it!

Steel and safety

Since our company is expanding into new areas, I am always interested to hear about the latest news from other areas of the world about our companies successes. I was glad to hear about one of our new offices that is being built right now. They have some of the newest technologies going into the building that will house our new department. One item of interest is the nullifire coating that the steel in our building will receive. I like to keep up with construction technology and this was something new.

It seems that steel needs to have a fire rating. By applying coatings to the steel, we can achieve this goal. It is important to maintain the safety of our personnel by ensuring our buildings are up to the latest safety codes and this is a good way to do it. As it turns out, this is not the only step we have taken.

Another safety feature we have employed is the use of a fire spray that is sprayed onto the steel. This helps the steel keep its integrity during a fire and allows a longer period for emergency actions to be taken. I am glad that our company has continued to maintain its concern for the safety of our personnel. This is but one reason I like working here so much!

Carp invasion

It seems that the people who live around and depend on the great lakes for their living have found a new enemy. The Asian carp is coming to town and they don’t like it at all. Imported to America to help keep fish ponds in the south clean, they have been migrating north ever since. They are now threatening to take over the great lakes and ruin the tourist and fishing trades.

Many steps are being taken to stop the fish cold. Electric fences, lock closings, and even poison have been tried. So far, the efforts have been successful, but it would only take a few to get started with the takeover. I hope that these efforts will be successful and want to remind everyone about the dangers they impose when they import foreign species.

Pleasure

One of the best things you can do in life is to go on vacation. There is something about leaving everything behind and taking some time for yourself. I was lucky enough to do just that recently when I booked a room for my family at an Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel. I was glad for the opportunity as I really needed a break from the stress of work.

I had been planning a vacation for some time now and was trying to decide where to go. I wanted some input from the kids and they were positive that they wanted to stay in one of the Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels that abound on the shore. I usually take their advice on what is the best place to go and they were right again. My wife also liked the suggestion and so we were all in agreement.

There are so many positive things about a Myrtle Beach Hotel that it’s hard to list them all. I don’t know if it’s the area or the sunny beaches. Whatever it is, it’s a wonderful vacation. There is much to see and do and there is also something for everyone. The kids can play on the shore while the adults find other things to do such as shopping and recreation. I am sure you would like to experience the pleasure we did and I know you will if you go!
