{"id":365,"date":"2014-12-20T08:55:33","date_gmt":"2014-12-20T13:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/abbyvanburen.com\/?p=365"},"modified":"2014-12-20T08:55:33","modified_gmt":"2014-12-20T13:55:33","slug":"love-and-marriage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/worpal.com\/abigailvanburen\/2014\/12\/20\/love-and-marriage\/","title":{"rendered":"Love and Marriage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last night the news had an interesting segment about love and marriage in terms of the percentage of baby boomers who are now happily divorced.\u00a0 The statistics did surprise me slightly.<\/p>\n<p>The news report stated that 39% of people believe in not getting married.\u00a0 The average age of men getting married currently is 28, while females average is 26.\u00a0 Nearly 51% of marriages will end in divorce.\u00a0 That is why most couples currently are waiting at least four years before walking down the aisle.<\/p>\n<p>I was surprised most by the percentage of people not believing in marriage.\u00a0 This must have multiple reasons behind it.\u00a0 Like I mentioned earlier baby boomers, the oldest this year turning 65, most have already been married have decided that now all they want in a relationship is more of a friendship with no strings attached.\u00a0 they are discovering that they are\u00a0much happier not getting remarried.\u00a0 In a way this is a shame.\u00a0 Marriage traditionally was meant to be a good thing but unfortunately, with the state of the economy among other factors, marriage has transformed into another hassle\/ complication that people are realizing they do not need in their lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night the news had an interesting segment about love and marriage in terms of the percentage of baby boomers who are now happily divorced.\u00a0 The statistics did surprise me slightly.
